Arrived on site to perform diagnostic on a 20-year-old system. Upon arrival system powers on when calling for pool however represents a very small temperature split. Plugged in refrigerant gauges and checked pressure; pressure is very low and the system requires 9.89 pounds to be at a full charge. Presented an estimate to add refrigerant to the system however it is our system, which means that the refrigerant is much more expensive as it is no longer being made. Due to the age of the system and the cost of repairs I recommended replacing the furnace. Ryan already has an estimate from another company for around 11,000. I recommended he look over that estimate and ensure that has all of the things on it that our estimate has and he will let me know how he would like to proceed. System is very loud upon Start up; left breaker in opposition so system won’t turn on and cause even more damage.
