At CABS Heating and Air Conditioning, we deal in home services for those in the Sacramento, CA area. But we’d be lying if we said we’re the only company you’ll ever need for home services.

As much as we offer (and it may be more than you realize!), we don’t offer a lot of home services. But we still want to help. And so what’s below are resources and information to help you navigate local home services in the greater Sacramento area.

What Counts as Home Services?

Home services can include, but isn’t limited to: Heating and Air Conditioning (HVAC), Plumbing, Remodeling, Decks and Fencing, Real Estate & Insurance, Floors & Carpeting, Home Decor, Home Security, Kitchens, Bathrooms, Landscaping, Garden Accessories and Services, Patios & Sunroom Installers, Pavers, Pest Control, Pet Products and Services, Pools & Spas, Roofing, Siding, Painting, Gutters, Solar Power, and Windows.

That’s a lot, and so it’s not easy to have everything covered. You have to keep a budget, and finding a reputable company for each of those can be difficult.

Northern California Home & Landscape Expo

Early in the year - in January or February traditionally - the Home & Landscape Expo takes place at the Cal Expo Fairgrounds in Sacramento.

This is perhaps the best opportunity to speak to companies from across those service categories about home projects. Representatives from local companies in each are present, and can answer questions and occasionally even provide quotes or price ranges for services.

The chance to vet and compare companies is one of the most valuable tools in a homeowner’s arsenal in decision-making for their home.

Often, companies will run show specials as well that aren’t available other times of the year, so you can take advantage of special pricing as an attendee.

CABS traditionally has free tickets to the Expo to give out each year, and has attended every year for several years. We’d be excited to speak with you at the show, or simply to provide a ticket so that you can talk to vendors in attendance for the services you’re seeking.

Proximity, Company Ratings, and Quality

What determines company quality? The answer depends on who you ask.

Google and other search engines will prioritize proximity (how close you are to the business) and the volume and quality of reviews, among other factors.

For you, reviews can definitely be important, but does it matter if a company is a five minute drive or 25 minutes? Probably not.

So it can be beneficial to canvas the entire area you live in for the most reputable companies. A Google search might only show you the three companies closest to you, leaving out tons of others that likely offer equal (or better!) services.

A mix of personal recommendations, face-to-face conversations, and online reviews are the best combination for most homeowners to assess and choose a preferred local contractor.

Sacramento Home Plumbing Services

CABS offers more than heating and cooling; we do plumbing too!

It’s more than just an add-on, though. We’re fully licensed and versed in installation and repair of several home plumbing appliances. We’ve installed or repaired hundreds of area water heaters, garbage disposals and other major appliances for Sacramento homeowners.

Armstrong Plumbing, Bell Brothers, Honest Sewer & Drain, and Drain Time Plumbing are all other reputable plumbers in the area. As with HVAC services, we don’t shy away from competition because we believe in our service, staff, pricing, and commitment to quality. If we can’t earn your business, we didn’t deserve it in the first place.

Choosing a Home Services Company

At the end of the day, most homeowners need multiple home services companies for all of their needs.

We can’t pretend to be the one-size-fits-all solution. That list near the top includes a lot of home services that no individual company will be able to provide all of.

However, once you find a good company to work with, it helps if you can lean on them for multiple services. That’s why we’ve expanded our training and expertise in plumbing and electrical services, to provide more of a whole-home service for our customers that goes beyond just HVAC.
